    Need help with notification/vibration settings

When I am at home or outdoor, I need the ringer and notification to be on (without vibrator) - something that is straight forward and I've been able to achieve it. However, when I am at work, setting the phone in 'vibrate' mode ensures that the ringer vibrates but notifications dont. I can go into the messaging app and enable the 'also vibrate when notified' setting, however, when I put the phone back into non-vibrator mode, it would still vibrate for notifications, which I don't want. I have tried using various apps such as MyProfiles, Profile scheduler and Quick Profiles, however, none of these seem to have the ability to override the settings on the phone, as far as the notification vibration setting is concerned. Surely it has to be more simple than this . Any help is much appreciated !

If I uncheck sound and vibration, all it does is stop the phone from vibrating everytime I get a call or sms, which is fine in the 'loud' mode. but I am unable to find a setting that enables :

    1) Ringing and notifying without vibrator in loud mode
    2) Only vibrating when ringing and notifying in vibrator mode.

I really feel the sound settings could have been more intelligent in the note 2. Somebody please help ! I'm sure there is some tweak or some app somewhere that solves this issue.

Under settings > sound there is a "vibration intensity" option ... could you go in there and achieve the settings your looking for?

I tried this. If I reduce the vibration intensity, it applies to all modes, which means, even when you set the phone to 'vibrate only' mode, the intensity is affected.

Ugh ... Quite a predicament we have here! Not sure how to get what your wanting, honestly Seems like it should be something so easy ... Think Google may have screwed stuff up back on ICS when they (for some unknown insane reason) decided to link ringtone and notification volumes together.

I was thinking it was Samsung. Wonder if this is achievable on other ICS/JB phones. Atleast if I can get hold of an app that overrides all the default settings, that should be it. Trouble is - I haven't found one that works.

    Ok, let me be basic.

    I just need 2 profiles:

    a) Loud ringing and SMS notifications (both without vibration)
    b) Vibrating ringing and vibrating SMS
