    Hanging / Freezing issues with the Note 2

    Hi guys,

    Since the last 1 week my note 2 randomly freezes and then turns off (blank / black screen). Long holding the power button does not help. The only way to get it to work again is to remove the battery - or alternatively it restarts or the screen comes on in about 20 to 30 mins. The weird part is that when the phone goes blank and I call from another no., the phone rings and there is no way I can know that - even worse, when the phone comes on again, there is no indication of the missed call.

    I have not downloaded any application outside from the play store and I also have the paid version of AVG antivirus installed (no threats detected)

    Actions taken in the last few days:
    I have reset to factory settings
    I have registered a complaint with Samsung and submitted the phone to the service center
    They have re-installed the software and given it back to me
    After that, the problem still persists.

    Details:
    Country: India
    Version: 4.1.2
    No memory card
    Less than 1 GB memory is currently in use (total of 10 GB)

    While I am still fighting with Samsung for a replacement, it does not look like they are going to do much besides re-installing the software again...

    ....so if any one has any clue or has faced a similar issue - please let me know...

    I'm sorry to hear of your problems.. I think you've done all the proper steps.. I would definitely keep on Samsung service for a replacement.. Usually when in hear of freezing & black screens I think of kernels on rooted phones misbehaving.. But you are stock which should not be happening..

    only time mine has froze up on me is when im using touchdown and go to start an email too quickly from what i can tell. happened 4-5 times maybe

    If it was my phone I would do a factory data reset and not reinstall any of my apps. I would run it in pure stock with no added apps long enough to see if it still does the freezes. If it does, then I'd report that to Samsung immediately. Be sure to tell them how long it took from initial start up to the freeze event.

    Thanks guys...anyway just to update ull...after numerous trips to the service centre, its finally settled on a mother board replacement and it seems to be working fine...till now at least
