    Note 3 SD card question

I got a 32 GB SD card today and put it in the SD card slot on the phone, following the owners guide. I know I put it in the correct slot, right on top of the AT&T sim card, but the guide says to slide it in until it clicks, which didn't happen (the click). On my Note 2, when I start it up it displays this statement about checking the SD card - the Note 3 doesn't.

My question is - is my SD card properly mounted? I don't think so, but is it necessary to format the card right off the bat? That I did not do, and wonder if THAT is the reason for it not appearing in the settings area.

Yeah I believe 32GB and over you need to format it yourself. I know with my 64 I had to, and I believe it goes to Ex-Fat? Don't hold me to that one though
If you need help, PM me

Not sure if it actually changed anything. This phone came with...I think... 32GB of internal memory. I just formatted and installed a 32 GB SD card, so shouldn't my phone reflect the total space as being somewhere in the 50 GB range? In device memory, it lists the Total Space as 32 GB, under SD Card it has Total Space of 29.71 GB, with the same amount being Available Space.

Am I still not mounted properly?

That's right, after formatting you lose some of your memory. My 64Gb only shows 59.46Gb.

Hi Grant! I just plugged it into a USB connection and it clearly shows my phone with an SD Card with 29.71 GB free, so I guess the SD card is installed properly now. Thanks for your help!
