    New to Note 3

    Hello,

I just got my Note 3 and realize it's full of the typical bloatware associated with new phones. I want to root it but I wasn't aware of the Knox issue until after purchasing the phone. I've got insurance so voiding the warranty isn't an issue. The phone will simply have an accidental swim in the john if I run into problems.

I've rooted my Droid Charge, Nook Color and Nook Color HD+ so am not a complete noob.

I haven't been successful using the Kingo method to root the Note 3 and wonder if I am ready to root this yet. Then again, i have apps that require root access so would like to get it rooted. I'll worry about a new ROM later.

Thanks for hosting this forum!! There is NO better way to learn about a new toy than from good folks who put together great forums like this!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new phone. What carrier are you with? I'm with T-Mobile and haven't looked back after rooting and voiding my warranty due to Knox.

Welcome to the forum. ..I've read Kingo is having issues with connection to servers and many are having issues with it ..Vroot is the alternative ..There is another thread here somewhere with a link ..

Also as I do welcome you to our forum I'd like to point out your reference to running into issues and then claiming insurance replacement is something I'm strongly against ..nor do I like mentioned here ..we root for enjoying the phone and I'm on board with it and tweaking ...at the same time if I ever damage a phone bc I caused it I would take the lost if I couldn't restore phone ...

Anyways let's stay on a positive and keep us posted on your root ..
